Vialogue Description

Throughout "Halloween," the lighting generally exists to create a feeling of dread and suspense. In this clip, the darkness that overwhelms the frame while Laurie is in the closet (at around 1:12) gives off a sense of the unknown. Coupled with the claustrophobia of that shot, the scene becomes even scarier. When the light is pulled on at 1:52, it is the first time that Michael Myers is seen in closeup while lit, which suggests (and foreshadows) a change in character for the ending of the film.
